MAKNA HIDUP PADA PEMULUNG
Abstract
Pemulung dianggap sebagai orang dengan lapisan sosial ekonomi dan budayapaling bawah dalam stratifigasi masyarakat kota. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif studi kasus intrinsik. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui makna hidup pada pemulung di daerah Sawojajar 1 Malang dengan menggunakan tiga orang laki-laki usia dewasa awal yang pada saat sekarang ini bekerja sebagai pemulung sebagai subyek penelitian. Metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian kualitatif yang digunakan dalam penelitian, metode wawancara dan observasi, metode untuk menentukan keabsahan datanya menggunakan metode triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perjuangan hidup pemulung pada rentang usia awal pada ketiga subyek memiliki pola umum yang sama di mana tujuan mereka adalah untuk menghidupi diri dan keluarga mereka. Kegagalan dalam mencari pekerjaan dan karena rendahnya tingkat pendidikan mereka membuat mereka memilih menjadi pemulung.
