Abstract

Color can make a person pay attention to it because of the impression the eye gets due to the reflected light. In this study, blue and white colors will be used as the background for black text. This study aims to determine the effect of the blue color on the background text on the working memory of Padjadjaran University students. The participants of this research were 30 freshmen from Padjadjaran University who were divided into 2 groups. The sampling technique used in this study is convenience sampling. The data obtained in this study were analyzed using the independent sample t-test technique. From the results of data analysis, it was found that there was no significant difference between the control group who was given a white background text and the experimental group who was given a blue background text on the working memory ability of new students at Padjadjaran University.
